REFUNDS & CANCELLATIONS
Payment and Cancellation Policies
We have designed this retreat to be as affordable as possible, and our payment and cancellation policies reflect our desire to serve you while honoring our financial commitments to our partners in Guatemala.
Once you have submitted your registration and room-type request, we will confirm your reservation by email. We'll hold your reservation for one week and ask that you submit your non-refundable deposit of $500 within the week to secure your spot. If you are offered a spot from the wait list, a three-day hold will be extended. We will confirm receipt of payment via email.
You are welcome to pay your balance at any time. In addition to the deposit, $1500 is due September 10, 2020. The remainder of your balance is due January 10, 2021.
You may pay by check or credit card. Please note that a 3% processing fee will be applied to credit card payments.
Please plan to purchase travel insurance within 14 days of paying your deposit, if you would like a cancel for any reason policy. See below for more information.
If YOU cancel the yoga retreat
Deposits are non-refundable.
Cancellations prior to September 10, 2020 are eligible for a full refund of any payments made toward your retreat minus your non-refundable deposit and any applicable bank fees.
Fees are non-refundable for cancellations made after September 10, 2020.
We may make exceptions if we can easily fill your spot, but this cannot be guaranteed.
To cancel your spot in the retreat, you must send an email stating that you wish to cancel to: firstname.lastname@example.org.
If WE cancel the yoga retreat
We have never had to cancel a program, however, if we do cancel the retreat due to too few participants, we will refund to you all deposits and payments you have paid. We cannot however compensate you for airfare or travel costs incurred. In the unlikely event that Worlds of Light must cancel the yoga retreat due to weather, natural disaster, instructor emergency, or political upheaval, we cannot guarantee a refund – it will be dependent on receiving a refund from the venues we work with and from our community partners.
To cover these risks, we recommend you purchase travel insurance.
(Trip Cancellation Protection + Medical Coverage)
Since we are not able to provide any refunds or discounts for arriving late, leaving early, flight cancellations, travel delays, or illness, we encourage you to purchase travel insurance to protect your investment in this retreat.
Good coverage can protect you if:
you cancel your participation in the retreat
the retreat is cancelled due to weather, natural disaster, or not enough participants to run the trip
your luggage is lost or delayed
you become ill and need medical attention in Guatemala or need repatriation for proper care
Please note that if you wish to purchase a "cancel for any reason" policy, most insurance companies require that you purchase the policy within 14 days of paying your initial trip deposit.
TravelGuard and World Nomads both offer comprehensive travel insurance policies (cancellation + medical travel insurance).
Please note: If flight cancellations and/or travel delays prevent you from accessing lodging, meals, and/or transportation included in the retreat, we will do our best to help you make arrangements to join the group after your delay; however, we are not responsible for any additional costs incurred when your lodging, meals and/or transportation must be re-booked. If these types of additional travel arrangements are required, you will be billed separately at the end of the retreat.
Emergency Medical Travel Insurance
(Medical Coverage Only)
At a minimum, all participants must purchase insurance that covers emergency medical evacuation. TravelGuard's MedEvac Plan is one such policy. It does not offer any trip cancellation protection, but provides coverage for medical care and medical air evacuation. This policy is not available online; you must call TravelGuard and purchase it over the phone.
